Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I don’t know how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would have used AI.
But I’m pretty sure I know the questions he would have asked of our education system.
Who does this system serve?
Who does it overlook?
Which students are quietly learning to survive school rather than thrive in it?
Dr. King challenged systems that looked orderly and fair, yet produced unequal outcomes.
Education is no exception.
For decades, schools have relied on averages and seat time.
They keep things running.
They also hide students who are bored, unseen, or quietly falling behind.
AI doesn’t replace teachers.
It makes learning visible.
Not just who is failing, but who is disengaging or never being challenged.
AI doesn’t answer the hard questions.
It removes our ability to avoid them.
For superintendents, this is not a technology decision.
It’s a moral one.
AI simply shortens the distance between what we know and what we do next.
